The appliance has two pressure switches either of which can detect a blocked flue.

Application to register as Provisional Non Domestic Gas Installer

A voluntary register is now open on this website. It is free to register and you can use the Application Form available on this website (see link in News details) . If you are an Installer working on Non-Domestic Gas Works, you should register on the voluntary register as your qualifications will require validation prior to finalising scheme entry requirements.

Prosecution for Undertaking Potentially Dangerous and Illegal Gas Works

The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER), Ireland’s independent energy regulator has successfully secured a prosecution against Mr. Stephen North, Pil Road, N24, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary for illegally carrying out gas works while not being a registered gas installer and for portraying himself as a registered gas installer

Publication of Criteria Document Version 1.6

The CER has today (28th July 2016) published a modification to the Criteria Document for the Regulation of Gas Installers in Ireland. This modification provides clarity to industry with regards to the scheme entry requirements and outlines the phased removal of the GIS and GID qualification as a method of scheme entry.

Successful Prosection of Illegal Gas Installer

The CER has today, 11th July 2016, published a Press Release regarding the prosecution of Mr. Tony Gallagher from County Meath for portraying himself as a Registered Gas Installer. Under the Electricity Regulation Act 1999, it is a criminal offence for any individual or company to portray themselves as a Registered Gas Installer when they are not registered with the official registration body.
